FAQ 1 - What if I’m fully booked with clients and have ZERO time to train a new team member?

You’re our kind of people! While you don’t HAVE to be fully booked to hire… it certainly does make it much more urgent when you are turning away clients left and right, facing burn out and overwork and overwhelm with a heavy client load and losing opportunities for growth because you physically cannot take another client.
You are in a great spot to start to grow your business with a team member! Our very first training we would have you go through before you jump into the program is a training called “Get Your Time Back” and it shows you just how to work your schedule to free up time to not only get into the trainings and get support - but to also create the space in your schedule to TRAIN your new hire once she’s on your team. The biggest mistake we see new employers make with a new hire is that they do not spend enough time training their new hire to set them up for success in the job. We anticipate that need for you to spend time with your team member long before a job posting and start to teach you how to look at where your time is spent DIFFERENTLY than when you were a solo provider. Let’s not waste another day and risk injuring you by keeping you at this intense pace!

FAQ 2 -  I’m not fully booked yet, but I want to hire can I still join?

It depends on how booked you are. Generally speaking, we recommend having consistent marketing in place to show you know how to market to get yourself clients… that would be evidence to know you have the foundations of being able to build a clientele for someone else as well. There’s a sweet spot to hire just before your too busy and don’t have time to interview/hire/train a team member… but most people are all over the place with their levels of “busy-ness”. We do recommend that you are fully dependent on your business to support you and you’re not working a full time job when trying to hire. Why would someone work for you if you’re not even working for you?

FAQ 3 - What makes the members of the Xcelerator so successful in hiring?

The Xcelerator was created out of our team management training to solve for really toxic team cultures and team members. It is different than any other team management program out there because it address the core issues that create those toxic team environments that run rampant in the beauty industry for 3 distinct reasons:

1 - Process: We teach you to create a hiring process with the END RESULT (aka your dream team player) in mind. Meaning - if you want a kickass team member who is bought in on helping you grow the business, who wants to be a part of a fun and fulfilling team culture, and who is excited about the opportunity to work for someone else and the stability that comes with a job (and not have to manage and run their own business in a suite)... then we’ve got to create a job opportunity that SHE would be excited about and develop that team member ongoing to be a major PROFIT PRODUCING asset to the company. Our Financial, Hiring & Onboarding Processes help you do EXACTLY that!

2 - Progress: Perfection is the killer of your dreams - it’s also made up and doesn’t exist. Our coaching method is known industry wide to be life changing and the support you get inside of this program keeps you focusing on how YOU are showing up and either allowing the business (and your team) to thrive… or take a nose dive to nowhere. We prioritize PROGRESS over perfection in our programs because… You’re either going to get the result you want OR the lesson you need. Either way - you win! Because your learning and development as a business owner will ALWAYS serve you!

3 - Profit: This “teeny tiny little thing” called like profit is overlooked in 95%+ of the businesses that we start working with. Why? Because everybody wants the big juicy sales numbers because their ego is tied to the growth of sales. Think about the “6-figure business owner” language that’s thrown around so wildly in trainings. What they’re mainly speaking to is 6-figures in SALES… not your pay as the owner. Your pay as the owner comes from PROFIT. If any of these 50% commission based pay salons evaluated whether or not 50% commission was PROFITABLE in their business before they start hiring team members at that wage, they’d likely find that it’s not profitable.
You can have a $500,000/year business (many of our Mastermind members do) but if it costs you $700,000 in expenses to have that $500,000/year business… is it a business worth having? Definitely not!

Inside of our financial trainings, we help you to evaluate the PROFIT of your business in it’s current state, how adding on a labor expense impacts profit, and what a profitable pay range would be for your business to support a team member long term… all so that YOU, the business owner, can pay yourself the profit as your wage without having to trade your time for money in the treatment room.

FAQ 4 - I’m pregnant and due soon - I need to hire ASAP, can you help?

This is an individual decision you’ll need to make for yourself, however I will give you my two cents based on what I’ve witnessed over the years. If you don’t have a team (or you have independent contractors) trying to hire if you are pregnant (especially if you’re in your 2nd or 3rd trimester). Here’s why. Building a team is NOT getting a warm body in the door and handing them the keys to your business with the assumption that you’ll be able to go have your baby and they’ll run everything for you and you’ll be able to collect a paycheck while you’re on maternity leave. Team members want a JOB so they don’t HAVE to run a business… and I’ve seen it far too many times where a team member tanks the business or steals the clients (or other things) while you’re in your most vulnerable and distracted season of life with navigating a newborn and recovering from delivery. I am ALL for women having babies and building businesses (that’s what I did) but they come in seasons of which one gets the bulk of your focus. If you’re pregnant (or even if your kids are younger than school age)... it’s a season of mom-mode and not necessarily building your “empire”. There will be plenty of time for it. However you will not get these precious weeks/months/years back when your kiddos are little and there is no replacing mama in those first few crucial developmental years. Give yourself permission to allow yourself the maternity leave you and your baby deserve, do what you can to make as much sales and stack away as much cash as you can for a maternity leave prior to getting pregnant (or prior to your due date) so you don’t have to choose work over being with your infant. When you’re ready post-baby, we’ll be ready to help you start growing your business and get that time back! If you already have a team - we can definitely talk about some next steps for you to get more time back and someone else to lead/manager the team in your absence. Just reach out to us at [email protected] with your questions or if you want to chat about your team!

FAQ 5 - What’s the difference between Society Xcelerator and Momentum Mastermind

Society Xcelerator teaches you everything you need to hire a team member PROFITABLY and train them to produce the results + experience that you do. Momentum Mastermind covers everything that happens after that! So leadership, management, scalable marketing (so getting dozens if not 100s a new clients a month), community, support and getting YOU fully out of the treatment room so you can work ON your business more than you’re working IN it.

There are no minimum requirements to join Society Xcelerator. Momentum Mastermind requires that you are doing $100,000 in annual sales (or on pace to) with at least 1 W-2 employee to apply for the program and it has limited spots available during our quarterly enrollment period. Because of the high level of support we offer inside of that program, we have a limit on how many people we accept into the mastermind. We don’t have a cap to Society Xcelerator, however we do keep the coaching call attendance small… so if we start maxing out the calls each week, we will add more call times to the calendar to ensure the call attendance is kept small so everyone gets the support they need when they need it.

FAQ 6 - Now’s not the right time for me, can I join later?

I often hear business owners interested in hiring a team make up a random date in the future as when they’ll be “ready” to hire. So my first reply back to this question is - what’s the hold up? There’s generally a bunch of pretty lame sauce reasons why “6 months from now” or “next year” will be the right time for them to hire for XYZ reason. Very rarely are there legitimate and justifiable reasons why you would spend more time on a decision that is SUPPOSED TO GET YOU MORE TIME. Consider this - IF you decided TODAY that you would join this program and TODAY starts you down the path of getting your first hire… where would you be 1 year from now? How many MORE hires might you have 1 year from now IF YOU STARTED TODAY? Instead of waiting “6 months because of XYZ”... you’re likely wasting MORE time when you could be getting your time back SOONER! There are definitely legitimate reason why we might suggest waiting for another time to join - like if you’re pregnant or you don’t have enough clients to support yourself much less a team member… we would recommend joining us inside of The Lashpreneur Society to learn how to build your solo business (learn more about that program HERE

What is the ONE thing we can’t make more of in this lifetime? Time or Money?

Time. So why would you waste anymore time if your goal is to get your tine back? The math ain’t mathing on that one! It’s ok to be nervous, doubt yourself, struggle with imposter syndrome or even feel flat out scared and overwhelmed at the thought of hiring… that’s why we want to support you in this program to show it’s not as scary or hard or expensive as you think. In fact, trying to hire without a program that prioritizes profitability (your pay), process, and progress like ours does might just be all those things… but I guarantee your perspective will change when you learn the step by steps of how to hire effectively and profitably and get the support on how to grow your business without it costing you your sanity and precious time!

But if now truly is not an “ok” time for you (notice I didn’t say “right” or “best”), then just know we’d love to welcome you into the program at any time however the pricing, bonuses, and offers we have available at the time you’re reading this may be different in the future.
